About the Department

The department was established following the College of Nursing's independence as a separate entity, in accordance with Royal Resolution No. 5088/MB on 7/8/1432 AH and Ministry of Higher Education Resolution No. 3/1430 on 4/7/1430 AH.. Its headquarters are in the building of the College of Nursing, Girls’ Section, on the first floor, where it serves the College of Nursing for both male and female sections

Vision and Mission

Vision: Highly qualified and professional graduates to provide safe, comprehensive, high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients.

Mission: Preparing future nurses who are knowledgeable, skilled, competent and highly motivated to provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients using advanced, evidence-based techniques.

Objectives

1. Employ the nursing process to deliver top-notch nursing care to critical care patients.

2. Develop confidence in making clinical decisions and prioritizing actions according to the need of the situation in the critical care setting.

3. Acknowledge the responsibilities and professional accountability of nursing in critical care in line with industry standards.

4. Integrate knowledge from nursing and other scientific disciplines in caring for critically ill patients.

5. Demonstrate collaboration with other healthcare professionals and engage in initiatives that enhance the health and wellness of individuals in critical care settings.
