About the Department

 

 

The Department of Medical-Surgical Nursing was established at the College of Nursing, Northern Border University, in the College of Nursing in 1430AH /2009 AD. It is located in the female section which is  on first floor of the main college building. The Department of Internal Surgical Nursing considers the main department in nursing. In nursing courses, students learn the basic skills from their first year in nursing assessment courses and the foundation course, parts one and two, basic concepts of the nursing profession and adult care nursing, parts one and two. The department has two main laboratories (Medical- surgical nursing - simulation laboratory) and is available in the male section (Medical- surgical nursing laboratory).

Vision and Mission

Vision:

The Medical-Surgical Nursing department seeks to graduate high-qualified students in education, research, and healthcare practice while caring for patients with medical and surgical conditions.

Mission:

Graduating skilled medical-surgical nurses as clinicians, educators, researchers, administrators, and health care providers to society.

Objectives

  1. Provision of medical nursing care and surgical nursing care knowledge.
  2. Promote skills in medical surgical nursing procedures.
  3. Enhance research and diffusion of evidence-based practice in medical-surgical nursing.
  4. Qualifying efficient and distinguished medical-surgical nurses in proficient leadership in nursing education, practice, management and research.
